Photo-Story: You ask – we answer concerning the MDI Learning Transfer Platform.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

You ask – we answer!

In the following photo story, three of our Managing Partners, Masha Ibeschitz-Manderbach, Barbara Buzanich-Pöltl und Marion Mihatsch, answer questions concerning the MDI Learning Transfer System.

At the beginning of this year, we started applying our new learning transfer platform in our customers’ inhouse programs; a one-year-license is included in the New Leaders Program (18.08.-22.08.2014 in Anthering bei Salzburg) for the first time in the MDI open program this summer. Find out more here.

NL1Only a few apply new know-how successfully

„Why do you believe in the MDI Learning Transfer Platform?”

Masha Ibeschitz-Manderbach:

„According to Brinkerhoff’s studies, only one participant out of six applies new know-how successfully. Four participants try and fail. And one participant does not even try. That’s what we want to –and will – change with our new system!”

Photo-Story: New Leaders – Part 2

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

this is the second part of our series for new leaders. We have asked Rüdiger Tesar, certified management trainer und Managing Partner at MDI, for the requirements of a successful change of leader.

Am I on the right way?

Rüdiger 2.1

„Rüdiger, in the first part of our series, we focused on the first 100 days. What is important after that, from your point of view?”

Rüdiger:

„After the first phase of growing into the new role, from my point of view, it is important to reconcile. Clear values and objectives guide and lead me as a leader. After these 100 days, you should pause for a moment and check whether you are on the right way – and, if necessary, adjust it.”

Photo-Story: New Leaders – Part 1

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

This newsletter is the start of a new series for new leaders.
Gunther Fürstberger, Managing Partner of MDI, demonstrates the changes new leaders are faced with in the actual photo story.

Consciously letting go

1

Question:

„Gunther, according to your opinion, what are the biggest changes for a new leader? “

Gunther:

„Being a product manager, for example, I would spend up to 90% of my time with expert activities. Once I become a leader, I also have to deal with leadership and management tasks. Hence I have to let go my expert side in order to have time for these new tasks.”

Photo-Story: Why is communication as a leader so complex?

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

especially communication often represents a big challenge for new leaders.

Why is communication is so complex? We have asked Rüdiger Tesar, certified management trainer and managing partner at MDI, to explain. Please, have a look at his answers in the following photo story.

The 3 levels of communication

update

Question:
„Rüdiger, why can communication be such a big challenge for new leaders?“

Rüdiger:
„Because communication takes place on three levels: content, verbal and non-verbal. If, for example, the content does not conform to the other two levels, the message is mainly determined by the verbal and non-verbal components. These three levels are a total package, which a leader has to deal with.”
